Congrats to the Meele's-
The next FACA tourney will be next year- it will now become an annual event. So you will get a whole year to come up with a good idea.
It will be a singles Competition {maybe with a manager}. There will be more information to come.

Singles with a manager? I wonder how that will work? So two drawers? Hmmmm... Sounds intriguing.
Maybe you have everybody just sumbit a ton of great character NAMES, have everyone vote on the best (a la the Arena Girl Challenge this time), and then randomly assign names to fighters. Haw! Talk about a challenge! I'm not sure I could have done as well with "The Amazing Head Butt-Er" as Kaz did.
Thanks for the tons of effort FACA must require, Sam. Looking forward to next year - my vote's for a a singles competition, or a singles/manager competition where both characters are drawn by the same artist.
Anyway, congratulations to the Melees! A great team with such a good backstory...

Couple of rule suggestions for next time...
Competitors shouldn't vote, IMO. Just too tempting to vote on other matches for the weaker looking opponent.
When there is a tie, and only one side bothered to put in the extra effort to do smak talk, they should get the win. If both parties did smak talk, let them "shoot it out" with votes on the smak talk. The coin toss is simply too subjective.
Just some thoughts. :)

I quasi-agree with this, at least the part about competitors voting. I know there was one match where I felt strongly that the Cli-Mates should win, were cooler, whatever, but it was neck-and-neck and I didn't want to face them myself later. While I don't think it would have been against the rules, I ended up not voting in that match rather than vote "against" a team purely for strategic reasons. Then again I'm a namby-pamby.
On the other hand, I think the competitors are by far the most passionate and attentive voters. Without them the already anemic voting (this time, in places) would be replaced by no voting at all. So. Namby-pamby.
